Calgary Opera presents the Canadian premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning opera Silent Night by Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell. Calgary Opera joins many other groups in commemorating the centenary of the start of WWI with this opera that was inspired by true events. It tells the story of a spontaneous truce on Christmas Eve 1914 when combatant troops laid down their weapons to celebrate the holiday together and bury their dead. It is moving. It is dramatic. It is a glimpse of humanity in the bloodiest of times. Go to Calgary Opera for more information.
