We got to work with Kelly Robinson (Directing ) whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with since our days at The Banff Centre.
The set location for the shoot was in the Calgary Opera’s Mamdani Opera Centre which is a converted old church in the heart of the city. The space was occupied with key props and set pieces complete with spike markings on the floor for the principles and chorus to rehearse before they truck everything to the Jubilee Auditorium this week. We also had the benefit of the wonderful make-up and wardrobe department from the Opera.
Die Tote Stadt stars (featured in these images) are Lyne Fortin as Marie/Marietta, David Pomeroy as Paul, and Calgary Opera’s own emerging artist Chelsea Van Pelt.
